Here is an interesting story about back home in Michigan. This was back in the winter of 1999. Me and some friends were sitting around bored in my old apartment. It was me, jacob(my roomate), tammy, and stephanie. It was around 11pm and we were thinking of things to do. When my roomate said " hey lets check out those woods at Mason" Mason is a high school in Erie,MI that has supposed haunted woods. What supposedly happened was one guy committed suicide because he was a cross country runner and he couldnt handle the pressures of losing his scholarship. So, he hung himself. Another killed himself because his girlfriend broke up with him. So, he went out and shot himself. We didnt expect to see anything so, we just took flashlights and headed out there. These woods now are kinda big and easy to get lost if you wander off one of the paths that they have. So, we pull up and we walk up to where the woods are. There was some light because the moon was full and there was alot of snow on the ground. We walk up to what we thought was the entrance to a path. Once we start walking it a train went by to the far left. In the distance you could see a person with his/her hands in his pocket. We waved because we thought someone might have been broke down because, there was a road to the far left. He didnt wav back. We sat there for a minute and just kept walking. Then we started hearing noises in the distance. Well, steph got scared and wanted to turn around. We realized though we had lost the path because it was actually a snowmobile trail. Everyone was tired and the girls were getting scared so, we tried looking around for the real path. After a few minutes jacob turned to us and shrugged and said "I dont know" Followed immediatley by his top half of his body jerking forward like someone slapped him. We looked but nothing was around that could have caused that. We all got a little worried then and we all started searching around quickly just to find the way out. We finally found the path we were supposed to be on and everyone was relieved. You could even see the lights to the school by the exit. So, we all started walking and joking when steph said "guys, there is someone following us" I said "no there isnt you are just scaring yourself" I walked ahead with tammy and was talking with her about the wood 'cause she is a self-proclaimed witch. We walked a bit more and steph said "Gavin i mean it. Someone is behind us" I said "steph, noone is there. Now look we are almost at the end of the path" She said "alright let me tie my shoe" Jacob said he would stay with her while she did that. So, I was almost to the end when Tammy went to my ear and whispered "run" I took off without thinking running as fast as I could for some reason I didint know. All of the sudden I heard " OH MY GOD! AHHHHH!" followed seconds later by jacob screaming at the top of his lungs in pure fear. I tried to jump the snow mound by the parking lot and fell down. I got up to run back to the woods and tammy was already out. With JAcob and steph right behind her. We all ran to the car and took off. I was speeding and my heart was pounding. "what happened!!!??" I asked. All jacob would say is " I say death" and steph was crying. When we got back to the flat. JAcob went to the bathroom and puked straight bile and steph was just crying and hugging herself. Steph said when she kept looking back she saw something in the road that looked like a tree trunk. Then when she looked back again it was closer. Thats why she tried to get me to look. When she was tying her shoe she said that she heard something right on her and it was about 3 feet high and was breathing very oddly. Like it had phlegm in its throat. She screamed "oh my god! Look!' And jacob turned around and saw it. Thats when they screamed and ran. She said when it chased her it was on the ground but it was gliding not running. All i know is if it was a joke they where playing steph wouldnt have done what she did. She would not sleep till broad daylight and wouldnt stay in a room alone for weeks.
