So I ran into an ex's dad last weekend, The ex that damaged me long ago. She is two years younger than I, and I have not seen her or heard of her for about ten years. I politely asked how she was, and got the following reply........................................wait for it.....................................she's about to give birth to her..................................SEVENTH child! I refrained from asking how many fathers, and wished her well. I once heard that the best revenge is living well, in this instance I couldnt agree more! Blaming my bitterness and general dis-trust of people on that cursed relationship would be dishonest, but it had to start somewhere.

Asshole? No, not at all. And that's cool that your Dad was such an influene! I wish I could say the same...my Dad wasn't around more than twice a year after the divorce, but that's just as well. He wasn't terrible, but I know I get my lack of self-confidence in part because he was a criticizer of everything I did. My step dad was pretty cool though.
