A while back, I saw this program on PBS about this particular type of penguin. During mating season, the male would bring to his desired mate a flat, oval stone. If she didn't like it, she would squak and bitch and flap her flippers, turn around and ignore him. Poor little fucker would waddle off, dejected, to try to find another stone that was more suitable. The stone seemed to signify nothing more than his dedication to her, and served as a reflection of his taste and what he was willing to bring to the table.

Seeing that sealed my decision to go into a five year period of conscious, willing celibacy.

That's not gonna happen this time, goys and birls!

But sometimes I'm sorely tempted.

What to wear to church? Black T-shirt...jeans...jeans...black T....black T....charcoal grey...navy blue...green? How'd that get in there?

I miss Lacey. I went to my house the other day to pick up clothes and see her. She was laying on the kitchen table (She's officially 'not allowed', but she's a cat...what can ya do?)

She sat up with a start, cleaned herself *licklick* real quick, gave me a dirty look and said "Whurrrrr Beeeeeen?!?!?!" I've got a talking kittie. I'm so lucky. One morning about dawn she jumped onto my sleeping back and chirped "Hi-roe Da-eeeee!" Hard to sleep after that. In a good way. She's somethin'. Black and white like a little cow...when she curls up on her side, she's a perfect Yin-Yang. Black mask with a white lightning bolt cutting down her forehead. VERY independant, but very, very sweet.

20 or 30 more, and I'll be a crazy old cat-lady!

I do miss her. Two more weeks....


Off to church, kiddos!
