A petite, polite older woman walked up to my lab. She needed her order, announcing her name as Reich. R.E.I.C.H. Spelled it out, much like that.
A small, rather mean-spirited part of me wanted to question her about her heritage.

"...it was the first time I missed my payment in 27 years."
Her demeanor:
She'd been robbed. Her home had been robbed. She had forgotten her payment, her insurance being late, ONE DAY past her grace period.

These things happen everyday. Quite boring in the larger picture, but they amused me. These poor women. A different part of me feels a little bit bad for each one of them. But really not that much at all.
Another part of me felt happy for their misfortune.
