I woke up this morning to two inches of snow on the ground. There is an interesting effect with snow and freshly fallen leaves on top of the snow. Most of the trees here in town still have leaves on the branches so there is always a risk of the branches breaking.

I was out on Muddy Mountain photographing the fall colors yesterday. It was strange to find a barbed wire fence along the rim on the North side of the mountain. People just can not leave well enough alone. Even the wild looking places are being invaded by the works of man.

I stayed out of downtown yesterday. Too many other things to do besides protest (soccer games, errands, etc.), but my spirit was with them. The Washington Post says it was the biggest protest in years, and the first one that has had a permit to march past the White House in over 10 years.

I grew up in the gas industry, my dad was a roughneck, and still is but in a different country, and now he get's paid more.
I say fuck all of them! Even though one of them paid for my life, I still think it's wrong. If I had to pick though Conocco, and Texaco/Chevron seem to commit the most human rights violations across the globe so I'll go with them. Usually the small fries are the ones that do the most fucked up shit.
