I spent the evening talking with someone who I'm pretty sure suffers from some form of mental illness. This person had some very high-functioning tendencies but also appeared to have some significant issues. It was sad. I'm watching a life crumble from a disinterested, lofty vantage point, and there's very little I can do to help.
