I know I'm not a regular updater but it's been a while
I'm now based in San Jose
It's technically Santa Clara but it's much of a muchness.
I don't want to offend anyone from the Silicon Valley area but I think it's a hole. Sorry. It definitely doesn't compare to Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles where I had a vast variety of bars within a short distance.
Some of the locals that I've spoken to in the bars that I've visited in San Jose have agreed with my opinion.
Can't find anywhere (locally) that plays any sort of rock music.
I had a week off from work last week. That was fun. Went to Vegas to lose some money and then went to San Francisco for St. Patrick's Day. Went to Kennedy's Irish Pub and Curry House. Top place. Nice vibe, good tunes, cheap beer (always a plus). I still think that San Francisco is the only place I've visited that comes close to Glasgow. I then gave my uncle who was visiting a rush tour of the city the day after.
I'm now 2/3rds through my time here in the US and it's been a nice experience. If I do it again, I'll need to ensure I get involved in local things - I'll also need to be more active on this site
Also saw Ring 2 at the weekend. I quite liked it. My only complaint was that some of the themes seemed too close to those in Dark Water (which I think was from the same director). At least it wasn't a straight remake of the Japanese Ring 2.
Looking forward to Sin City - hopefully it'll be as good as it looks visually.
Anyway - I always seem to rant when I fill this thing in so I'll stop now.
Bye.
