In case you missed it on Facebook.
This is what I think about moving from Southern California:
"An observation on me having lived in Southern California for 5 years.
Those of you who have known me for a long time were shocked when I moved there because it seemed so out-of-place for me.
And yes, it was. I just never gelled with Southern California.
However, *DON'T* start bagging on the region and expect me to go along with how awful it is.
I hated it the first year and a half I lived there. Then I found a pretty amazing group of people out there.
As much as I joke about there not being any "readers" in Southern California, I met plenty of intelligent, well read, open-minded, wonderful wonderful human beings in Southern California (I still won't call it SoCal).
So the next time, you try to get me in on the hating on California gig, remember this: Every region has it's own stereotype for a reason. It's easy for the feeble-minded and lazy to cast judgment on everyone who lives in any given region/country. The truth is, there are as many amazing people as there are assholes in any city/state/country. The difference is you will always find what you seek in any given place. Actively seek amazing people and you will find them.
I am ecstatic to be back in Oregon. I love the Pacific NW, and always have.
But I would be lying to say I didn't miss the hell out of the people I met in Southern California. It's not a bad place you guys. So lighten up a little, and try to be as open-minded as you say you are."

aye & amen.
But, there may be certain pockets in certain regions. For example, we, here in Louisville, KY, have our neighbors in Bullitt County
or, as I like to refer to it

They have Disneyland, that's why I like southern California. There's just too many people and to much traffic there. Thanks for sharing, take care. lovekiss
