So I made a huge mistake in my life. I ate nothing but ramen noodles one summer in high school so by the time I got into college I hated the stuff. I picked the worst time to hate the cheapest food ever.
Well for Christmas my husband's parents will give us all sorts of things besides the normal stuff like clothes and gift cards. We tend to also receive toilet paper, tooth brushes and tooth paste, shampoo and body wash, popcorn, some other snacks, and then a 6 pack of ramen.
Well, we didn't even open the ramen noodles from last year. But we're trying to be more frugal and I'm trying to use what we have in our cabinets before we have to do grocery shopping. Well, I gave in and started to boil the water in defeat. If we don't eat it now it'll just fill up the cabinet more and then it'll be more to eventually eat.
While I'm waiting for the water to boil I sit at the computer and look for ways to improve ramen noodles. One of the first things someone said was, "Ranch. Trust me!"
*lightbulb moment* Duh! Chicken and Ranch in noodle form! So I looked up some specific instructions:
* follow the instructions for the package of ramen
* add a dallop of ranch dressing and stir it in
* add some tobasco sauce and you're done.
So I drained out quite a bit of the broth, added a bunch of ranch because I used 3 packages, and then sprinkled in some creole seasoning and pepper because I didn't have any tobasco sauce. (if you use the creole seasoning like a 1/4 of a teaspoon is all you need for 3 packages, a little goes a long way.) But, omg, it is amazing! So I believe that we will be having this quite often. I can imagine even italian dressing because sometimes I marinate chicken breasts in italian dressing, I think it'd be just as tasty with ramen. I feel like I have a new perspecitive on life.

I sometimes mix grilled chicken and veggies in with mine to spice it up.
