My son saddens me. I have two, but we will be disussing my youngest. He will be four in april. I have worked in daycare long enough to know that he is brilliant and different, and that is not the mother in me speaking. I am so torn. He is brilliant and kind, good sense of right and wrong, and just amazing,but....Then you have this other part of him that is uncontrollably angry and hateful for nothing, no reason what so ever. He cusses, he spits, he bites and chokes and throws things and nothing works. I don't understand his hostility. We live in a very peaceful home. We are buddhist parents, very calming, with the exception of my bipolar and borderline personality disorder which is not always in my control. I was told that it wouldnt be likely that he would inherit bipolar from me, but i just dont know anymore. He is so very articulate. I talk to him and ask him why he behaves so poorly, and he say I dont know im just angry. That is a tough pill to swallow. It is saddening. So, I made a call to our older sons old therapist and am going to try to get to youngest in for at least an evaluation or for some parenting and coping skills to be put out there that maybe i haven't tried. I know and accept that I cant and dont and wouldnt want to control him, I just wish better for him. I know what my disorders bring me as far as suffering and would not wish that upon anyone.frown

I feel for your trouble and pain and understand how worried you must be. Whe my four year old starts to play up (as I like to call it) I've found that more and more activity, helps to get it out of her system. Where I live I'm very fortunate that i have about two or three playgroups a day to go to plus pre-school. Taking her out and tiring her out help somewhat. I hope that that may help a little bit and that is only just a phase.smile
