Good lord I missed that woman. (see last post)

Bonfire tonight! Newpot beach California! This has the potential to be the raddest most awesome weekend in decades. Thus far it has been.

The bonfire tonight was ok. Certainly not the most awesome bonfire in history, infact it was probably the gayest in history, but that's comparing it to some pretty fuckin' gnarly ass bonfires. As this rant from a bit ago details. The guys next to us had a fire reminiscent of ones we used to have.

That's actually not that awesome of a shot. It's really hard to get a shot exactly when you want to with a camera phone so that's when the fire was at a low point, and it's really hard to get a good idea of the hight of the flames. The guy you see, if you notice the angle of the shadow, is a ways towards us. That was, I belive 4 pallets. Later on some other guys on the other side of us stacked on 6 pallets.it didn't burn all that well though. I'm not sure if they were wet or what but they didn't burn near as good as the one I got the picture of there. One thing those guys did that we never did was bring fireworks.

We DID however get this carpet tube that was 8" dia and about 25' long and cut holes in it for venting. We never got to light that thing unfortunately. I was bummed because we had the thing all wired up to be held up and i did a fantastic job venting it. All of the holes I cut out i bent the cardboard --that was fairly close to 3/8" thick-- in at an angle to form vortex generators to mix the air up and really get the fucker burning. I was expecting it to turn into a rocket and blast fire a good 100' probably closer to 200' in the air. It should have been a seriously impressive sight.

The only thing I was worried about is that if we had it set inside of the pit, it was sure to become a vacume and suck all of the coals and stuff out and spit em up in the air. Who knows where it'd come down.

But it was nice seeing lil bits of all the fun stuff we used to do a while back. And any time you go out n burn wood at the beach with old friends you have a blast. As we did tonight. I was kindo bummed Jenni wasn't able to show up --she wasn't gonna be able to spend time with her family tomorrow so she had to do that tonight-- but we still had a fantastic time.
