I wrote this a while ago and thought I would share. It's a letter I wrote after reading Open Letter From a Love Slut and thought it was a great idea.
If you're reading this you might just be too curious. Or maybe have a romantic interest in me. For whatever reason, I thought I should write it out. Most of the time I start ranting and things get lost in the rambling words, so this way its better for both of us.
There are things I want you to understand about me, about who Ive come to realize I am. Things you might not like and should know from the start.
If you push me too hard Ill slide away, I react badly to harassing and badgering, it gets on my nerves. So if you decide you want me for yourself then act on it, but if I ask for space dont follow me around or text me over and over again the same question. If you do it more than once itll end in a plain out NO! and you wont like my tone. If you cant take no for an answer you wont see me again, thats stalking and nobody likes stalkers. Im an army brat, I have issues with authority.
If you think you love me say it, say it more than once. Say it like you mean it, dont just say it out loud and think of laundry or TV, thats disrespectful to the phrase. Never hold back a heartfelt I love you, it never wears old.
Im not a morning person, and I can promise youll get hissed at and glared at if you approach me before my coffee. This is not something that will change; Ive been like this since I was a child, so please take it into consideration if you have certain affection for your limbs or if you bruise easily. This does not by any means mean I dont love you.
I enjoy to have heated discussions about everything from books, to music videos, to recent news, so if you dont read, watch the news or keep up with the everyday things people should know culturally you are considered boring and not my type. Please restrain yourself from asking me out or Ill quote Max Ernst.
I cant stand cheaters or liars. Theyre the worse kind of scum in my book. I wont lie to you. Ever. If you cant stand to hear the truth or cant come to terms with it, walk away now. Same goes if you cant say the truth to save your life. Oh, and concealment of facts is included. Hiding stuff IS lying, no matter what your guy friends say about it.
I dont need to come first. Your job, your mother, your dog even, can come first, but not after youd made a commitment with me. If we have a date, be on time. If you say youll be there at 8, Ill wait a bit, and then leave if you havent showed up. Relationships are like business, you have to respect agreements or theyll backfire, keep that in mind.
I like to dance around in my pajamas, drink coffee like a maniac and smoke like theres no tomorrow. I have an annoying dog, a fascination with Justin Timberlake and love to knit. I live at night mostly, unless its absolutely necessary to see daylight. Ive always been like this. I dont mix business with pleasure and I dont spend hours looking for an outfit. I almost never wear skirts or dresses and I like working on old cars. I also have a tendency to make up stories about being a WW2 pilot.
If you arent too freaked out by now maybe you have what it takes. None of the points above are to be discussed. It is what it is, I am what I am and thats final.
