Where you at?

Are you running in place and calling it progress? Are you moving with the pack and telling yourself its what you want? Are you killing yourself to live? I mean, when is the last time you took a good look around you? When is the last time you heard or saw something that changed your mood? That changed your mind? When was...

Why do I feel like I'm sitting on the couch with a big bowl of greasy potato chips in my lap, and you're the guy on the TV screen telling me it's time I cleaned up my act? Hmmm....

I don't know why I was thinking about this recently, but a few years ago I went away for New Years with a girl I was completely crazy about. When we left it was all googley eyes and hand holding and everything was great. We met up with a friend of hers in LA and all drove out to Joshua Tree together. She spent a...

oh and by the way another thing about men, i find them to have a very, very strange relationship to their own looks. just weird. often more sensitive and self concious than women - even if they don't wanna admit it.

It's funny I was thinking along the same lines about some things that happened to me in the past. So upset at the time, and now I feel nothing but "thanks for the experience". Funny also, but as I was reading I thought to myself, once this guy drove a million hours to come meet me and we spent the whole evening pressed up against a drycleaner's door while passerby shouted at us to get a room...he went home at the end of the night and I was happy I got to meet him.

The mental image of your dad (I have no idea what he looks like, but I picture a balding, older version of you) crying himself to sleep made me laugh. You are a bunch of babies, but I guess that's what keeps us coming back for more in some sick way. I think the balance here is getting back to normal now. I guess it was male PMS.

I was out fairly late this past Saturday night. Sometime around 4AM or so my friends and I drunkenly decided we were gonna get up the next morning and go to Coney Island for the opening of the Cyclone. I planned to blow it off, of course, but at 10:30 AM my phone started ringing and so I went and met my friend Brooke and...

i went to coney island the last time i was in ny in the absolute dead of winter and it was very much as you described it, minus the music. it was eerily beatuful-- kind of like i imagine pompeii. and, of course i got a hot dog from nathan's. i'll have to try the lobster next time. and when i say next time, i mean never.

what about the fake palm tree. can you believe that shit?

i really want to visit the salton sea.

I just noticed something- I have no black friends on this site anymore. I don't know where they all went. Is SG getting whiter? I don't know. If so that's no good.

I'll tell you why I was thinking about that- we need a new genre of music. And white people never come up with anything. Black people invented jazz, then blues, then rock, then...

You're too sweet. It feels like the new set should have been my first set from...like...three years ago! The quality and vision are lacking in my humble opinion...I am quite the perfectionist. Yes, yes. Grad school and work and volunteering keeps these hands busy, busy, busy...

sounds like you need some obscure "modern global music".....you should try this or this! smile

I must be getting old. I think I like this site more for the geek aspect than the nekkid girls. Well sometimes, anyway. I still have my favorite nekkid girls.

But this weekend I had a moment of geek nirvana. And it was unexpected as well. I was supposed to go to a play on Saturday night, but the friend I was taking was late...

Hmm, new pic I like it! If it isnt that new it just goes to show how long its been since I dropped in for a look see.

Hey I'v met russel crow and I live in the same town as he does. His brother is kinda loopy. If russ is put of by Noreen than she must be one tuff chick! I'm sure he secretly admires her and wants to bonk her. smile

I'm green with envy I'm such a huge buffy fan this sounds fantastic.

I had to leave work for an hour or so last night to run into Manhattan to get my shots for Africa. When I walked out I noticed my Hide-A-Key dangling from the tape I used to keep it affixed under my back bumper. (Yes, I have a hide-a-key. I've locked myself out of my car too many times not to. Laugh all you want)....

hi hot ass. how's your weekend?

Lamentably, the less one questions, the easier life really is...at least in the short term. appreciate, in a way, the period of time in which I believed that significant political changes was possible within the Democratic Party. That seems such an antiquated notion now. frown

So this is what's on my mind: My job is ending next month. I've been here for almost 10 years-off and on-and it's been the best experience of my life. I've met some of my best friends here and it's changed my life in unimaginable ways. But as much as I'm gonna miss it, I'm glad it's ending.

I went for a long walk yesterday...

What I've learned asking people questions at trial re your last question in that the more specific you are the less you're trying to hide- unless you're a total liar and are making it all up. So who knows.
Good luck post-Sopranos!! And the guy who named flys was a lazy bastard. Agreed.

I've been on a "Hamlet" kick lately and I was watching Mel Gibson's version of "Hamlet" this weekend. (Yes, the Mel Gibson version. I'm sorry, but it's still good!). That line was Polonius to his son Laertes, in "Hamlet". It's one of the most quoted lines. Fancy high schoolers might use it for a yearbook quote....

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to,...
