*sigh*
So I got an email from mpphoto this morning telling me some bad news.
Official SG photographers are required to let Missy and Erin know which girls they plan on shooting. I guess in order to up the standards of SG, they told him to not even bother shooting 3 of the 6 girls... and I was one of those girls.
I have to admit, I was crushed. I thought it was very odd that I was rejected before I even got to send in my set. But after reading a few posts that have been made in the hopeful's group lately, I realize why. If I am going to be rejected, I would rather be rejected now, then send in set after set after set, and still be rejected then. Sure, it would've been easier to get this out of the way when I first sent in the application, but alot has happened since then, and I had a great time meeting mpphoto and shooting with him, and plan on doing it again, just for fun. I contemplated e-mailing Missy and asking her why I was rejected, but it seems pretty cut and dry. I'm obviously not what they're looking for. Rejection sucks, but I'll get over it.
So that's my story. Makes me feel a little defeated. Who knows, maybe I'll try to apply again later -- but school's starting up again, and I'll have plenty of other things to occupy my mind. It would've been a great opportunity if I made it, but alas, such is life. I do want to thank Michael for being so good to me, and letting me down easy
I plan on shooting with him for his portfolio, and for the fun of it...because it really gives you an energy rush/confidence boost. I know not every girl who applies can be accepted, but damnit, I was hoping.
Anyway, that's my story. Time to make myself a turkey sammie and probably sleep for the rest of the day.

were you sent a rejection email or anything? that sucks about that whole thing. i wouldn't get too down, a lot of really beautiful women get rejected for one reason or another. if you want to do it, i wouldn't give up, then it would be even more satisfying if/when you do get it
