NEW TITLE: LOYALTY, a thing of the past...
Well I'm online doing some prep for my science classes.
Time for the confession: I'm a maths teacher and baby sit junior science (year 8 now, have done 8-10).
I like chem but don't really like teaching science because once the school gets you in they won't let you teach less science! That would mess up my plans to teach year 12 pure maths.
While I'm confessing last year my best pure kid got 19/20 which was pretty cool but this year they cut my subject!
I'm not going to rave about being annoyed, lol I did that last year. It did remind me to be waryu of admin, they make decisions to suit themselves rather than whats in the best interests of the students. There'll always be different opinions but sometimes it's pretty obvious to the masses.
NOW I'll have a whinge.
Last year (August) my little brother died in a motorcycle accident. (might make that the subject of a future blog, it still cut's me up).
I bring this up in relation to work for a reason. I was looking after my mum when my brother died and needles to say she was happy to have me around, in fact once she commented to the effect she could have topped herself at a low moment if no-one was around. My mum's tough but had a fairly hard life and is a survivor so that was pretty serious.
Anyway two weeks after my brother dies I've got all sorts of shit going on, with myself, supporting my mum and having to deal with my brothers skanky girlfriend running around and claiming to be his defacto UGH!
Well at that time work asks me to pic up another science class cos the teacher they got didn't want to take it. My world is going to shit, I bailed out of the school ski trip (which would have been great), and the school gives me fuck all notice and asks me to pick up an extra class.
For some reason I'm a little professional and prepared some work so I didn't fuck the kids over. Anyone could have covered the class for a few weeks but they picked me. Yes I shoot myself in the foot by being reasonable/good at my job but for fucks sake why do that to me?
This isn't the first time I've been shit on by a school (thats how I feel) but really my life is thrown into chaos, I'm helping others deal with their shit too and they increase my workload.
I work to help my kids but if school asks me for extra and it won't help my kids they can get fucked. When I was a kid I learnt about loyalty (I was working when I was 12) and through uni I had some great bosses and would help them out and they'ed have helped me if I needed it.
For the most part loyalty is dead, it's a shame but why should I give my soul to a work site thats going to shit on me?
haha *END RANT*
Something really cool about SG is that this doesn't hit the public domain, in the sense that members are members. So I can spill honestly
Ideas for future blogs:
new motorcycle acquisition if it happens
my brother rip
how mum's doing if anyone was interested
jobs I used to have
what happened in science today :p

have a gorgeous weekend, hun!
you're a teacher eh? That's what I want to do with my life...be a math teacher at that! ha! Sorry the school is feckin' with ya. That's really no fair, but it happens. Sometimes they overwork the hell out of what they have because they can't find what they need. But that seriously sucks for the teachers they do have. (It happened at my high school the past 3 years, and a lot of amazing teachers cracked under the pressure)
Hope things get better for you! Sorry to hear about your brother
A future entry into that would be entirely up to you
well, take care!
