I've been offered a new contract today for next school year. And... I'm completely divided on whether or not to take it. The pay is good, the situation is good, the commute manageable... what's stopping me?
Not more than a few weeks ago I made a personal decision to switch gears entirely. I made plans to go back to school and attend to my long-neglected...

So, let me start by saying... emergency rooms are way more interesting on TV. And people work far more slowly in real life. Or maybe they are bustling about, it just seems pretty fucking slow when you're having trouble breathing.
Thank yous to the well-wishers. I am on the road to recovery, as they say. I even snuck out of the house today, against doctor's...

I overdid it this week. Now it's Friday night and I'm paying the price. The space behind my left eyeball aches like somebody dropped a bowling ball on it and the entire right side of my body is sore.
Why both eye sockets and both halves of my torso are not equally discomforting just adds to the mental frustration of the evening. I can't even...

My post-weekend entry today was supposed to be about seeing Clinic this weekend and how the art of stage banter has been, over the last few years, perfected by some, abused by others, and completely eliminated by others in favor of playing more music. I had planned on it being quite brilliant.

I found a new meditation style on the web...
I'm guesing that it's borrowed from another system...
I followed it just for fun, and funny enough it had interesting results.
Try not to laugh too hard.

I thought it looked pretty neat, in a Conan sort of way. I'll let you know how it goes.
There should be a way to make the location segment of my profile read: in my car.
The Im Lost option doesnt fit so well. I know where I am. Im in my fucking car. All the time it seems.
Well, lets see my current teaching gig (which is over in three weeks thankfully) is in Sacramento, my drivers license still reads San Francisco, my...

I'm sorry, what was that you were saying?
Seriously, the reason you can chatter away like a thousand parrots to your captive audience in the passenger seat is becuase the passenger CAN'T FUCKING HEAR YOU! You play your music loud enough to cause rectal bleeding.

Three edits for the three sentence post. And now one for this one. Evidently, I type with my feet while wearing lumberjack boots.

There's this billboard on 5th and Harrison with a big question mark and the web address starbucked.com (now imagine I'm clever and conscientious enough to produce a jpeg of said billboard right about here... then cease to wonder why I didn't want to make that starbucked thing a url link for handy-dandy SG-member access: if you're going to...

My flight back from LAX tonight was delayed... and delayed some more... and... the battery to my laptop finally died.
So I bought a book. I read a lot, don't get me wrong... and not just comic books. Basically what I do for a living is read shit and then try to convince other people that what I just read is worth reading and creating...

The movie isn't actually all that bad, I'd give it a rent just to see an animated James Leer. Plus, Robert Downey Jr.'s performance as Crabtree is freakin' great.
Edited to say: But they did make some changes in the movie that I didn't really agree with, but hey, no matter how good the piece of work drawn from, it's still hollywood...

with lord of the rings i've felt the same way about not seeing it having read the books when i was younger. i know the outcome so nothing would surprise me, although visually...but even that's not appealing. How long are the movies back to back? just seems a waste of time to me.
It's after 2 in the morning and I'm not done packing. I'll be in SoCal all week. And I'm not particularly looking forward to it.
Nothing against SoCal... Just not feeling the whole trip thing.
Or maybe it's because my plane leaves in less than four hours and I've basically given up on packing.
At any rate...
MLB abandoned the whole spider-web on the basepath...

Peach is good cuz then you will never go hungry....but the shoe is good b/c then you could see the world....I am conflicted on this question.
The Good, the Bad, and the just plain Ridiculous
Starting off with the bad... primarily because it's fresh on my mind but also because venting about the more unfortunate events in one's life generally clears things up for prolonged periods of positivity. And I am an optimist at heart, after all.
Cinco de Fucking Mayo, y'all. Earlier in the week I was invited to a...

Nice homecoming for the Quannum crew on Saturday night. Lotsa love for the Bay Area from Shadow and the boys (and girl - Joyo Velarde was having a good time too).
