Give a man a waffle, he eats for a day. Teach a man to sketch abstract caricatures and compose obscure poetry, and he eats for life. Or, at least, until the end of the tourist season.

I just got back from Southern Oregon. Ashland, to be exact. Gorgeous town in the Rogue Valley sheltered by the Cascade Mountains and just about fifteen miles from the...

indeed i could have. but i didn't! =) did i tell you that the castle is vacant? i always go sit up there whenever i have alot on my mind... since there is a high school nearby, i usually run into a lot of kids hanging out up there too... inevidably they ask me to buy beer for them or will i turn them in for smoking pot...etc. etc. (no and no, are my answers.)

another cool heart i came across tonight. metallic silver design. right across from union square @ macys. i must go back... i had my camera with me....but i was on a mission to find the perfect jeans b/4 closing....

I feel better.

I'm comfortable with the fact that I'm powerless to do anything about the homeless situation in this city, and if I do nothing more than continue to be aware of what is happening, make every effort to understand the how and why... then at some point I won't have to hate myself for feeling useless. And Michael, if I ever find him...

I saw Michael Thursday afternoon. I was going to buy tickets at the Music Hall, and I went looking for him around where he said I could always find him. I saw him, but he didnt see me.

Truth is, I barely recognized him. And when I say he didnt see me, I mean he couldnt see. Couldnt stand. Couldnt do anything more than shake...

a moving tale that just leads me to shrugging my shoulders. if I knew just what to do I'd do it by golly.

so both the evil laptop and you got this anti-asian-irish-hybrid streak in ya? i forget...is it two or three that make a conspiracy?

hey there....everyone has their good days and bad days....his are just more extreme than ours. give him some time and try him back another day....

i took a couple, well a lot, of pictures of the heart by my office. as soon as i get a chance....i'll upload to my journal, if i can figure that out. maybe that will cheer you up? =)

p.s. i hope you're not mad about the zoo comment. i still am not a fan of zoos but since the animals have no choice in the matter, i agree that they should be well taken care of.

Thanks first and foremost to rexphantom who introduced me to this issue in his May 21 journal entry.

There are two things I remember most about going to the zoo when I was a kid: the first was the giant iconic dog in a chefs hat that smiled down from above Doggie Diner across the street (I never saw a Ralphs Big Boy growing up,...

Thought of you today when I was walking on Market St. I remembered your story about the hearts in the city. Have you seen the one between 1st & New Montg? It's across the street from the See's candy store. If you haven't, you have to. It is SO amazing!

Fuck this decision-making shit. I had a great goddam weekend and I'll make up my mind on what I'm doing next year and what I'm doing with the rest of my life some other time. When I'm good and ready.

For now...

This Franz Ferdinand show was one of the best shows I've seen this year. And I know I say that a lot... I...

I've been offered a new contract today for next school year. And... I'm completely divided on whether or not to take it. The pay is good, the situation is good, the commute manageable... what's stopping me?

Not more than a few weeks ago I made a personal decision to switch gears entirely. I made plans to go back to school and attend to my long-neglected...

So, let me start by saying... emergency rooms are way more interesting on TV. And people work far more slowly in real life. Or maybe they are bustling about, it just seems pretty fucking slow when you're having trouble breathing.

Thank yous to the well-wishers. I am on the road to recovery, as they say. I even snuck out of the house today, against doctor's...

I overdid it this week. Now it's Friday night and I'm paying the price. The space behind my left eyeball aches like somebody dropped a bowling ball on it and the entire right side of my body is sore.

Why both eye sockets and both halves of my torso are not equally discomforting just adds to the mental frustration of the evening. I can't even...

This ones a bit longer than usual but bear with me.

My post-weekend entry today was supposed to be about seeing Clinic this weekend and how the art of stage banter has been, over the last few years, perfected by some, abused by others, and completely eliminated by others in favor of playing more music. I had planned on it being quite brilliant.

But thatll...

I found a new meditation style on the web...

I'm guesing that it's borrowed from another system...

I followed it just for fun, and funny enough it had interesting results.

Try not to laugh too hard.

I thought it looked pretty neat, in a Conan sort of way. I'll let you know how it goes.
