Slaying those toxic dragons..
You know those people? The ones who are just plain cruel? The ones who are nice to you when they need you but have no time for you when you need them? Those people who say these really biting, back-handed remarks and then act surprised when you are hurt? Those people who use their undeniable charm to manipulate you and everyone...

The TMI Report- (a.k.a. Still think Im hot??)
I ate a whole watermelon today and I peed every 10 minutes for the next 3 hours.
I have noticed since I started losing weight that my boobs are getting smaller. I am not sure if I feel happy or sad about that.
The last girl I kissed tasted like cloves and pepperoni.
I tried to do...

So, I went to Karaoke From Hell last night, which for those of you not in Portland, is live band karaoke.
After Elvis (the elderly impersonator who is a well known Portland street performer) wowed us all with Supicious Minds, we were treated to Whole Lotta Love, Creep, and some guy screeching out You Light Up My Life, if my memory serves. By this time,...

Someone asked me recently why I am a writer. My answer came in fits and spurts over the hours that passed after the question was initially asked. My initial response (flowing straight from my drunken stream of consciousness) was, because I have always been one.
Ok, so thats not really a reason. A few minutes later, I amended my answer and said, You know what?...

And about the impact of computers on the form and content of one's writing... I think they definitely do make a difference, just as any tool affects that which is created with it. It's not necessarily true that word-processed writing is going to be more disconnected and shapeless, but it is a danger. Writing by hand or on a typewriter forces economy---to save the effort of writing or typing multiple drafts, one tends to sort one's thoughts and plan what to say and how to say it beforehand, rather than exploring on the page or doing a "core dump" that can be organized later.

i need to get my write on too .. NanoWriMo was great but feeling the desire to write more .. .I think I have the write stuff .. yes and bad puns are common among writers ...
I think I have met the most scatterbrained boss ever. (I mean that in the nicest way possible!) I have had 4 telephone conversations with him and one hour-long interview (to make COFFEE no less) and today he told me that he still wants to hire me, but needs another week to get things organized.
At least he remembered my name this time.

Yes, yes, yes. I found some entertainment this weekend. Mostly involving yucca (which is kinda like a margarita only WAY, WAY better) and mint juleps of course in honor of Kentucky Derby, I have a special nostalgiac fondness for the Derby. I look forward to it every year. This year was no exception, and the horse, Barbaro, won by 6 1/2 lengths which hasn't...

It's Limerick Day!! (in my brain)
Disgusting, perverted, obscene;
Quite unsavoury, know what I mean?
These are rhymes about screwings,
Unnatural doings ...
Activities rude and unclean
There once was a pirate (the story relates)
who liked to go dancing on roller skates.
He fell on his cutlass
which rendered him nutless
and virtually useless on dates.
The once was a young girl from Norway...

Day 7, Playlist #7, "HOMETOWN PRIDE"
Ok, all y'all. This is my last playlist for the week. It's been an interesting little journey. It's funny how music can change you. (Or maybe you choose certain music based on your place in life) That reminds me of a movie quote...

"An old movie from your childhood"? I _just_ (as in this morning) bought a copy of that for an old friend's 5 month old baby (who I just met last night). My girlfriend and I listen to it ALL the time. And then we get sad, because apparently there was a point about 25 years ago when it looked like things were going to turn out okay. And here we are.

I love that movie.
It's strange that it's one of my favourites, but I don't own it on DvD.
I have to make do with the book!

As for the basic issue (and yeah, I only know you from your posts here and a few comments either way, so please don't tell me to fuck off, but do feel free to ignore), is that while there's no doubt that these folks are legitimately treating you like crap and are wrong to do so, some people kind of invite it by wanting a) to be right b) helpful c) magnanimous.
I definitely did this when I was younger (maybe it's part of being M.O.T.), but there's something almost satisfying about saying (or even thinking),"you treated me like crap, and I'm STILL here for you!" Of course, as we get older, we realize that a) nobody's going to give us a medal, b) the pain isn't worth the satisfaction, and there are actual friends who both need AND deserve our help.
Don't hit me.

(Ok, that sounds cheesy now that I'm reading it back. Sorry about that.)
I too like the new profile pic. It's sassy!
(Oh, God. That was even worse. I'm very sorry.)
