Literally just got home from the Portland Pride Festival (and parade). It has been a long, but lovely weekend. Yesterday was busy and stressful, but it ended nicely with pizza, chocolate chip cookies and the movie "American Tail." (Yes, the one with the little mouse, Fivel Mousekowitz)
Today it was all about gay pride. We had a fabulous rolling snuggle float, which was really just a flatbed truck that we converted into a snuggle den by covering it with futons and squishy fabrics. So then our little puppy pile went rolling through the streets of downtown Portland. Mostly, I ran along side the truck in my little naughty schoolgirl garb handing out stickers to cute people.
It was a long walk in knee high boots, but It was great fun. After that, we went back to the festival where our booth was offering free massages along with free hugs and of course, "Wanna Snuggle?" stickers. I had the biggest hot dog I have ever seen from one of the vendors there. I'm not sure if it was intended, but I found it amusing that the Pride Festival would have such enormous hot dogs. I also bought a bottle of wine from Hip Chicks Winery. They were an awesome lesbian owned winery in SE Portland that was offering tastings of such things as their "Loud and Proud Red," Riot Girl Rose and Bad Girl Blanc. I loved them. Most amusing point of the day was when I embarrassed myself when I accepted a cock ring from the Spartacus people and responded "Oh thanks, I needed another hair band."
All in all it was a great day. Wish you all could have been there. I would have snuggled you and given you a sticker.
