it has been 8 solid years since my last vacation of any kind. Hell, in the past 8 years, the closest thing i've had to a vacation is staying at my sister's house for a couple nights on the cape. But the last time I went anywhere farther than MA for even a night was when I went to Montreal after graduating high school for a week.
Needless to say, it is WELL overdue.
Which is why i am just so excited to be planning a vacation with my boyfriend for our 10 year anniversary. We've been saving for a while, but we are still going to be pretty broke for the next 2 months to make it happen, but it is soooo worth it. I got the time off work today, which in my mind means it's official. Then tomorrow hopefully i'm going to deposit the savings and then friday, i can officially start booking the trip.
It took us a while to figure out what we wanted to do... until i saw the news of the upcoming solar eclipse 2 days before our anniversary. So we are gonna drive down to SC to watch the solar eclipse and spend a few days down there on a boat doing who knows what. I have been looking to see if any bands I like are playing anywhere but so far haven't found much. if anyone has any suggestions of things to see and do, we are gonna be near Charleston and so far have very little planned.
i'm excited to bring my cameras and hopefully take a lot of photos while i'm down there. It's a great opportunity to get back into photography since i'll want to have my camera on me anyways.
i'm just in such a good mood.
