Travelling again, just for a bit. There should be pretty pictures soon. The camera wasn't brought along for this trip, so we'll be seeing if the one built in to the newest iPhone is as good as Apple said it'd be.

Today: Back in Berlin, which would be my home city if the Bay weren't. Then a train ride to Essen, and 4 days of...

Sounds awesome man. Good luck getting the game out!

I'm ringing in the day in proper mad-scientific fashion: Having robots carve the latest creation. All part of the plan for world domination to make a new prototype of the game to show off at Essen, where the all the new games for the year get shown. This is also a convenient excuse to revisit Germany, walk the Tiergarten, give a nod to the Vicktoria...

Still in US then, but the thing won't spoil. Hope you have a good time in Essen; we're in stand-by mode for the 2nd launch.

I will forever stay foolish when it comes to dreaming and/or job related things smile
Hope you do have a chance to go to Germany! I plan on making it over there one of these days. Hopefully in the nearer future. xo

People say we should count ourselves lucky to be born in such rich countries, with clean water, no malaria, and on and on. But tonight I'm appreciating how lucky it was to be born at the cultural epicenter of the world.

I'm looking at publishing companies in other nations, and wanting to talk them into carrying my game. My cultural offering. And I'm looking at...

One of the things I liked most about it was seeing what Mr. Ateh got from it. Mobile high society looks like fairy princess land to me, and I first see the sparkles even when the filmmaker is concentrating on the warts. You must admit the celebration had many sparkles. However, Mr. Ateh's first comment afterwards was something along the lines of the film showing exactly the things he hated about the South - they looked so stressed out and unhappy like they were bound to their traditions unwillingly. Something like that. I think the last three years have exposed us both to a very different kind of South than we would like. Anyway, I'm glad it finally showed up and I enjoyed it.

Happy early birthday! My sg settings are still east coast time, and it is after midnight there...

thanks for your critique. I agree with a lot of what you said and thanks to some heavyyyy maneuvering and after a year of trying and two rejected shoots--I'm shooting with a staff photographer in less than 2 weeks. :3
IF THAT SET DOESNT GO PINK, I WILL SIT IN THE SHAME CORNER FOREVER. ><
x0!
pesky:
Of course. I mean, I'm a writer by trade. I can take criticism and I'm not blind. I knew there would be some debate over big discrepancies but I loved the set too much not to submit it. I wanted this to get me more attention and as long as it does that, I can't really ask for more.

I meant to say that I'm very impressed by your book cradle! I'm about to start my next term of book-binding classes this week :-)

We actually won't be doing much besides visiting my family and friends, so we're just bringing gifts (thus the herbal tea, cookies, and RKT's) that they like.

And I finally found a pair of shoes after almost crying from frustration. At my fifth shoe store I got a pair of Taos that are super comfortable and easy to take off/put on. Brendan needs to find a pair that suits him because all he has is sneakers and work boots, which will be a pain.

There's a button in iTunes today I haven't seen before.

"Download all previously purchased music"

So many forgotten moods and guilty pleasures.

Now playing: the live recording of "Tomorrow, Wendy", by Concrete Blond.

Had to know it would happen. I was showing the game off at Penny Arcade eXpo, and someone who works for Wizards of the Coast now wants to hire Marek (the primary artist). It's not uncommon for WotC to pay ten times what Marek has been charging me per card. Which you can afford to do when you print Magic: the Gathering and have millions...

Marek has earned his reward based upon what you have showed us. Great for him!

I hope that's what I have, because otherwise it could only be aliens. We don't need that.

Lyssan is about to move into its next stage of life as a game. The final hours are ticking away on it's kickstarter fundraising/preorder round. Once those are up, bankers do things, weeks pass, money appears, and I get to do the final round of haggling with printers to see how many copies can be made to appear on my doorstep for the amount...

Thanks, but with the pictures, I'm talking about adding them to albums. If you're talking about the same thing, I'm not sure if I'm understanding.

Really glad to see things are coming along well. Your hard work will pay off I'm sure smile

Again with the movie trailers that caught my eye:

I'm hoping to see more from the movie than "Rich people are evil. Poor people deserve more." Which is mostly what the trailer shows.

The notion of time as money is believable, and worth exploring. There's already so much linkage between the two. And if immortality was available, what else would make sense as a currency?...

That's the plan. I have a whole passel of folks needing my particular attentions up thataways.

Indeed.

Oh, and perhaps it is gardening on a hillside that tones one's legs when they themselves cannot remember exercising.
