Things that are looking good for Lyssan.

  • Drakkenstrike tells me they're working on their review for the game now. They've got one of the most watched game review channels on YouTube.
  • A first foreign company has approached me about rights to distribute Lyssan in their country/language.
  • We're getting covered in Polish? English, too. Like, the kind that people from England speak.

Speaking of Lyssan, I played it today. It's pretty good.

I lost for the same reason that I consistently lose at "A Game of Thrones", which is to say because I lack the patience to plan my turns or develop any kind of strategy.

This is worth your 15 minutes:

Short version: Massive amounts of money are now being entrusted to AIs. (e.g. on the stock market) Because the contest between AIs has real world consequences, we give the AIs what they need. That could mean dynamiting a new tunnel across hundreds of miles to link New York to Chicago, (which already happened) hollowing out whole skyscrapers in the...

And by the way, TED is an amazing site. Very, very interesting. Would love to watch one of these conferences personally.

I asked them to use that one because it looks the closest to how I look now. The others are from when I was 19 and 20 (I think) so I just look really different.

Holy crap. I'm a game designer. I mean, I know. You know. I know you know. But I mean.. I spent all of today, every last minute from waking up until writing these words before crashing out, doing a game design related thing.

I opened my eyes, sat up, popped open the laptop next to the bed, and started responding to kickstarter and boardgamegeek messages...

Thing I learned in Bookbinding 1, Day 1:

There was a time when books would go from press to binder with the pages all folded up from larger sheets, still connected at the top, and then be bound that way. A gentleman might sit in his chair with a new book and a knife to slice the pages open with, knowing that he was the...

Slicing pages open for the first time seems so tantalising. Sorry, I seem to be turning this whole book thing into some kind of pornography. Wait, bibliophila!

That is too kind of you. You, sir, appeared to be fit and well, and you were pleasingly ticklish. Seems SF has been good to you.

The card boxes, they said. They ran them through the x-ray again to be on the safe side. It was indeed bizarre, but you just never can tell what will set the TSA off andtheres no use trying.

Thanks, I plan to take some more when the weather is better. Though the dreary, grey days could provide some interesting shots too!

I have a favor to ask: Watch this video and tell me what you think. This is potentially my kickstarter pitch. If it's convincing, my game gets to be made. If not, then it's back to the drawing board.

I was probably going to stay with Gramps, but it's nice to have a second offer as well, danke. I may well take you up on it.
