Just ran the numbers again. If I want to have my game on store shelves by Christmas, I need to be ready for Kickstarter in two months, and ready for printing in four months.

Varus was the Roman governor of Germania. He disappeared into the Teutoburg forest in 9 A.D. with 3 legions (~18,000 soldiers) and was never heard from again.

Viking mercenaries travelled up and down the rivers of Eastern Europe as far afield as Constantinople, where they were known as Varangians.

And this round's fantasy impostor is Viashino - the name that lizard people are given in Magic: the Gathering.

I don't recall how or why I knew about Vercingetorix. Maybe after watching Rome and doing a bit of meandering research online.
