I just met the most lovely polyamorous triad at the Essen games fair. I'd joined them for a card game. At the end of one round, the girl leaned over and kissed the first boy on the cheek, sharing a moment together there before returning to the game. After the next round, she leaned to the other side to nuzzle the second boy. The three of them were so simply in love that it brought a smile just to see.

New games I've liked so far:

The Resistance: I finally got to play this; I'd seen folks in the Berkeley Boardgamers group playing it all night without break for several meetings, always with a full table. Having finally experienced it, it's quite promising. It's a rework of Werewolf/Mafia/Witch Hunt, but with a smidge more depth, and one key improvement: Everyone stays in the game rather than getting offed midway through and sitting out until the next round. I expect I'll keep this one around for a long time, as it fills the rare niche of "game that seats 5 to 10 players and finishes in half an hour."

Dominion: Prosperity: Now the 5th set for last year's Game of the Year winner, "Prosperity" opens up some an extra range of possibilities in this already fine game. I wasn't expecting to be impressed by this set, with the theme of "bigger cards", but was surprised at the strategies it opened up in this already clever game.

Other than that, I ran into ZakSmith's new publisher for his D&D work, suggested a rules tweak for a game that's likely to get me a "thank you" in the final credits, tried countless other games, and got an estimate from Carta Mundi on what they'd charge me to print my game. Frederic Henry, my French friend made last year, has two new games out there which I'm looking forward to trying out tomorrow.

I didn't really do anything in those photos! I just set my camera 0ev to -2. My camera is the new Sony CyberShot. It's amazing with great settings on it!

The picture for Dominion: Prosperity reminds me of one of my favorite games from the 90's Inherit the Earth. I want to play Dominion now! biggrin

I've never been too good at learning, but duly noted nonetheless.
