I enjoyed my time in Stockholm. It's another city I took a chance to just relax in, visiting only a handful of museums. But I was bowled over by just how approachable the whole city was. Stangers would smile at me on the street as we passed, and the few times local friends informed me that someone had just been rude to me, it was so subtle that I'd missed it myself.

The ferry ride away caught me with the first wave of loneliness. How tiresome to spend the overnight trip huddled over these artifacts of distraction. How light it would be to spend that all-nighter with friends. Distraction eventually found me in the form of an exuberantly friendly Chinese businessman and his entourage, and rest insisted on a brief visit as waves turned the top-heavy boat into a giant rocking cradle that was irresistible for the the three hours the night lasts now, here.



But all the same, landing in Helsinki, I'm ready to step off the road for a while.
