I was only in Copenhagen for a single evening, but there were two things I noticed:
1) A cheesy looking All-You-Can-Eat Chinese Buffet in Copenhagen runs $45 dollars. The dirt-cheap student dinner place runs $20. That's the cheapest dinner I saw in town, and I looked.
2) No one was there. I asked the girl as the hostel counter where everyone was, and she said the area was mostly an office park, so they were all home now. But what about the apartments, the whole apartment buildings that were marked "for rent" and had the all the lights out. Well, it's the peak of vacation season, she offered. Everyone's gone.
I have a theory. I'm guessing the locals are fleeing their absurdly inflated economy.
Will the last person to leave Copenhagen please turn out the light?

Amsterdam is all I ever wanted and it's better than I expected.
