I did my first unsupervised episode of machine sewing today. The intent was to make an iPad satchel with room for a book as bonus. The end product was an iPad cozy and four lessons learned, none of which involved sewing my hand to anything. For a first time, sitting down without so much as a pattern, I'll take it.
