It's been a long time since I posted so I figured what the hell. Things are by and large the same as ever, but there have been a few developments. First, I applied with one of the nearby towns to be a cop, and if you've never gone through a Police interview, don't. That's easily one of the most intense experiences I've ever been through. It's not so much a job interview as you explaining to several strangers why they should hold you in anything other than severe contempt. It's like justifying your existence as a human being. It's not fun. But, I lived through it mostly unscathed. I didn't get the job, of course, which is fine because sitting there I realized I didn't want to work there anyway. They thought WAY too highly of themselves and I'd rather work in the town I grew up in anyway. Which leads me to the next thing, a dispatch job opened up in that town so I applied for that. I've really got my fingers crossed on that one because I grew up around most of the guys on the department, and I'd love to be able to work with all of them. Plus, when a Patrolman spot opens up I'd be that much further ahead of the curve. Wish me luck! Lastly, and this one I'm really proud of, I hit $200,000 in sales at work last month. I came close a couple months ago and missed it by only about $6000 but December was a good month and I ended at just over $221,000 which was pretty cool. If I do get hired for the dispatch job I'll be sad to leave the current one but I think it's time I started using that Criminal Justice degree. If I do get hired though I'll probably be on mostly if not all 4pm - Midnight shifts so I could stay at my current job and just get out early every day. We'll see. I guess that's pretty much all for now, I'll really try to write in here more often from now on, if for nothing else than the catharsis of being able to vent and what-not. Adios.
