my family has had property about 70 miles north of Pittsburgh PA since 1943. in total, the ENTIRE family combined owns 37 acres. my parents alone have 28. so you can imagine how i grew up-- weekends at "camp."
my parents still go up every weekend in the summer. when dad retires, they're moving there. just like my grandparents did.
last fall, my dad befriended some baby deer. he found out that they like marshmallows, and he can get them to eat from his hand. i dont think that going hunting is the same for him.
