I think Jefferson said that,"A country in fear of its people is a wise country", I think that was a great statement. Thats prolly why the right to bear arms was such an important ammendment, even though several politicians have tried to limit its meaning. Funny thing is guns are still relativly easy to come by since, of course, the president didnt resign any anti-gun laws. But wait, wait how do we limit gas useage, over use of water, and over use of electricity? Blackouts. Same thing is happening to gun owners now too. They cant control guns by law, BUT no one ever said they cant control the ammo. Ammo prices have went up nearly 55%(rate of inflation is only about 3% a year) in the past 7 years. Now some people prolly dont care or think ive lost my mind, those are probably the same people who think a NLF player with 6-7 guns and a couple hundred rounds is planning to kill every one. If the gov. looked at me they might think im starting a mini arms race in my closet.
I guess the whole government control thing freaks me out and I need to put on as tin foil hat and hide, but im pretty sure that the founders of this country would flip out if they saw how this place has turned into such a socialist country(Federally funded school & medicine, welfare system, etc). I cant remeber which one of our first few presidents said it, but he said that the fall of this great country would be socialism. And from the looks of it he was spot on.
And back to the first line of this whole thing, if we cant arm our selves or defend ourselves rather, how scared do you think our Gov. would be of us? Who could stop them from taxing us to death(and after death), passing ANY and EVERY law they think WE should abide by, and what ever wlse they feel like?
