Sounds like you are having one heck of a week -- hope your job situation works out. Would love to see the set(s) you shot and would definitetly give you candid feedback on "the standard" for what it's worth. I'm not a model by any means, but I am an artist who has been rejected many times by people/academics/critics who "don't get" my work. I know it's tough to keep moving forward with something in the face of "NO" but knowing you also sing, just think of the SG judges as a "tough audience" -- you're aready exploring other venues with your whole burlesque situation. So here's hoping the rest of your week gets better and post those sets if you can!

Well, made my burlesque debut last night!
For the most part, it went rather well! Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The club said that they would book us again any time, and we had a couple of new girls that said they want to join in the fun!
There were some bumps, but that's to be expected with any new endeavor. And our juggler...

Tomorrow is the day!
My burlesque troupe has it's very first show! I'm exciited...and a bit nervous!
Also, just waiting to get my pics from my photographer...we took around 2000 shots, so she's narrowing them down, and then, hopefully, I can get some stuff up here!!

I forgot that sometimes, booking can be frustrating! I want to have all kinds of shows lined up for our Halloween Burlesque show, like yesterday! But, *sigh*, I am at the mercy of the clubs...

Ever see the cover to the Tom Waits album "Small Change"? Somethin' along those lines would be interesting...mixes the Cabaret/Burlesque, with a tinge of the artful and a nod to Diane Arbus.

I keep hitting a brick wall. First, the company that hired my burlesque troupe on for it's first show, went under, and the theatre didn't want to uphold any of their previous deals. They would want $1800 for the space for the weekend! Fuck a bunch of that.

Tonight I'm holding auditions for my burlesque troupe I'm putting together! It's actually happening! We already have a big show booked for October!
I'm super excited, and nervous....I haven't really led audtions or anything since I did Rocky Horror years ago!
