Edit*
It's not often I meet a female who is able to keep up with my more absurd conversations. In fact she's kinda kicking my ass. I may be just a bit smitten. It's like in Freaks And Geeks, when Ken meets someone whose a bigger smartass than him and he falls for her.
What an interesting development this is.
October 1st, I actually have plans!!!
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World has become one of my favorite movies, I have seen it 10 times in theaters. Unfortunately it has already left cinemas, which is depressing considering Despicable Me and Toy Story 3 is still there. Anyway, I have three regrets:
1) I never attended The Scott Pilgrim Experience at Comic Con even though I was in fact, at Comic Con. I also never went to the screenings they held.
2) Because I was in China at the time, I missed out on seeing the movie opening weekend. I blame myself for it's low box office.
3) I never got to see the film with a packed crowed. All 10 of my viewings involved me and maybe 5 other people in a theater, usually just my friends. As a result I never got to experience it the way it should, with enthusiastic fans losing their minds over the film.
Well, I can't do anything about the first two, but on October 1st the New Beverly Cinema out here in L.A. is screening it at midnight with "Special Guests" and "Prizes." And I have already purchased my ticket.
I wanted to invite some of my friends who have not yet seen the picture, but I decided there was no room in the theater for people who weren't already mind numbingly obsessed with the film, and who would cheer and have a damn good time, so I'm just gonna go with one person. However if anybody out there is going, let's meet up and lose our minds together. It'll be awesome.
P.S. While I'm most excited about seeing the film in a nice theater in L.A. with a good crowd, I really really hope Edgar Wright shows up. He is currently one of my favorite people, and very high up on the list of male celebrities I would give fellatio to.
