Went out with a friend tonight to watch The Boondock Saints II.
Now the first one is something that was fun with some pretty decent action sequences.
This one, not so much. For me, the second one felt like they took a writer a director who is pretty good at making a fun movie, and had him do a serious crime film, the result is rather horrid.
I mean, there were plenty of problems with the film, but the one that bothered me the most about this film was the blandness of the action sequences. I walked into this film fully expecting that my action sequence needs would be met, instead I was given lazy action. It pretty much just took the oldest form of shootouts, that is to say we see people shooting for a while, then cut to people falling down. They just added a few polishes here and there and hoped no one would notice.
On a plus note though, I saw a poster for a new film by Noah Baumbach while I was at the theater. I love Baumbach and I had no idea he had a new film in production. It stars Ben Stiller, I'm excited
