thank you, thank you, thank you!
thanks for the many wonderful birthday greetings! y'all made ushering in the second half of this century a delight.
all your comments were little treasures!
(i never knew what those little red balloons by sg members' names meant!)
i saved all your comments so i can reply to you in kind, but in 6 hours, i am san fransisco-bound!...

i am struggling mightily to keep my head above water in the ocean called school. i had no idea going back to college at 49 would be so tough and so time-consuming.
hence my absence from sg.
your support and comments mean so much to me and i will try to answer your indivdual messages as soon as possible, which, quite honestly may be 3...

Hope school's still doing well. Keep it up and whenever one of those young punks gives you any lip, try these simple to follow steps:
1) Point behind the suspect and yell, "Look! A baby wolf!"
2) When the person turns with a puzzled look on their face, simply ram your toes at break neck speed (or break nut speed...) into their groin.
3) Point at them and scream in a maniacal voice "I'm not takin' any guff off you fucking swine!"
4) Get to class to avoid any tardy slips.

Hey sweetie. Changed my username....just an FYI.
ok, ok, i really suck at updating my journal.
on the other hand, i'm pretty good at this sobriety thing---thursday will be one fucking year, clean and sober!!!
then, i promise, i will stop yammering about that topic, and i will strive to be a better blogger.
exactly how do you guys manage to update so frequently?

Whoa, okay. I don't know if that was suppose to make me feel hurt, sad or pissed. Perhaps I feel a little of each. I wish I had something to say. Okay, actually I have lots to say. So I guess where do I start?
Was I flattered that you requested my friendship, yes. There is simply nothing better than logging on and finding that 1 new friend request under my comment count. But chalking all this up to my age and to where I live is the shit!
I don't have a lot of friends in real life, but the friends that I do have I value very dearly. Actually one of my best friends in real life is on your friends list.
Again, I say if you are simply dying to be my friend get to know me.
Although, at this point I doubt you want to be my friend. Perhaps I am the worst kind of SG member, you know that kind that well I guess I don't know. I don't know what makes a bad member. I suppose it could be me.
Could you have improved my dreary life, I am sure you could have. Will I ever get to know? I guess not. But that is my loss to think about not yours.
I really don't feel I need to have a journal entry dedicated to what makes a good friend since it's pretty obvious as I stated to you. I guess I don't find those things to hard to do, but perhaps you do.
So who gives a fuck if I post Trent Reznor pics. I have a very unhealthy obsession with that man. Sorry if my life isn't all that interesting so I update with pointless shit. I post stuff that people could find funny or at least start a conversation about, if you want to avoid it that's fine, but a simply hello I read what you wrote today, would be nice as well.
Again I am sorry.
Here is to bumping into you again, someday.

Considering that you seem like a very intelligent and caring person, I'd be glad to have you on my friends list.
Honestly, I'm not a big zealot about much of anything. I don't have many strong and passionate views. Except that everyone has the right to live and be happy. When people start to infringe upon that right (as in making threads offending often defenseless people) I get infuriated.
I've said my share of mean things in my life, I'm only 19. I have many years of stupidity behind me, and frankly I probably have quite a few ahead of me as well. I do know that I try my damndest to not offend people who can not defend themselves.
Seem you hold similar views and thats awesome.

my pleasure. thanks for stepping in.

well well well.
great 2B back.
my podiatrist just sent me home, minus crutches!! yay!!
the fracture is healing, but it could take 6-8 more weeks to heal completely, so the cast stays on when moving about (it's one of the velcro-strap thingies, so it makes a very satisfying rrriipppp sound when taking it off).
i feel like herman munster--or at moments, like gene simmons--because...

i was just going to check in with you and see how the Bowie shows fared...sounds like it was going rather nicely until you ran out of A/C...but to see Bowie at the Greek, ah what bliss...The Bay area has to be wonderful this time of year...nothing like sea air while you're watching an outdoor show.
i hope to see some of your work down the line...i'm sure you've gotten some great footage/mixes.
let me know.

A posterized, cartoonified image of David Bowie and band playing was projected onto the screen behind the stage. David Bowie's voice was heard telling Gerry Leonard, "That's good Gerry, keep going," but it was several more minutes before the band took the stage, and another minute before David Bowie came out. Nothing was said then - they immediately launched into the song "Rebel Rebel."

That sounds very nice.... only, by this point in time, I'd rather focus on "Slip Away" and "Afraid" as the main encores over "Changes" (totally sick of) or "Suffragette City" (still cool... but...)
Not being familiar with Reality, I still have to say it looks like he performed just about none of it! I mean, I think I know the album-origins of 99% of these. (edit- I went n looked up the album just now)
Clear Channel owns every venue in America, right? Ehh, there's a reason to be afraid of Americans right there.
I wonder how different some of these songs are done now? Are the '70s songs quite different now?

I still need to hear Reality; I, for one, think Heathen was near enough up to his '70s/'80 standards.
My biggest hope is that a success on the big screen will lead to the show being picked up again by a network. There's SO much more I need to know!!!
