I'm sure that at one time it used to be possible to order prints of SG photos. As I remember, you could order a print of any photo from any SOTD. I'm pretty sure I almost did order one some time back, but found that once I'd factored in the cost of shipping to the UK, the cost was prohibitive.
Did I just imagine that? Or was that a real thing that used to exist?
Either way, it doesn't seem to be an option any more. Which means that now, if I want a nice framed print of @riae on my wall, then I first have to buy some nice photography paper, then go into work out of hours so that I can use the big printer in reception when nobody is around, and I still don't end up with a print that's quite as good quality as I would have done if I'd been able to order a professionally-done print.
That said, now that it's nicely mounted, framed and hanging on the wall, it does look pretty good.
I'm not sure whether, strictly speaking, this is allowed under copyright law. It might count as 'fair use' under US law, but I don't think that's a thing here in the UK. But as this is strictly for personal use — I certainly wasn't planning on selling or otherwise giving these prints to anyone else — I don't think anyone will mind. Especially given that SG aren't selling prints any more.
