Wow.
A couple of weeks ago I entered a competition to win free tickets to Hammerfest in March next year. Today I got an email telling me that I've won!
There is a catch, though. The tickets don't include accommodation, and the festival is in North Wales, which is a bit far to travel every day from Oxford. They're trying to push their on-site accommodation, which does look good and would certainly be convenient, but unless I can get together a sizeable group together and we can all pay straight away, it works out pretty expensive.
Much cheaper is the option of staying at a youth hostel in nearby Conwy. Could get an ensuite room for two for less than half the cost of the festival accommodation. Would mean driving in every day, but it's not that far so it should be OK.
I just need to work out who's coming too. I can claim up to six tickets, but I'm currently thinking of just asking my brother and going as a pair. Otherwise I'm not sure.
