So it turns out that another movie based on The Crow is coming out next year. This after one successful movie (the first one), a suckass sequel (The Crow: City of Angels), a shitty USA Network TV series, and still another movie sequel (The Crow: Salvation), which went direct-to-video.
Why? For fuck's sake, haven't they already kicked all the nails into that particular coffin? Yes,...

You know, I'm old enough to realize that moving to a specific place won't make things all better (believe me, I've tried), but damn, I really wouldn't mind living in California somewhere.
I've spent my whole life, so far, except for a few week- or month-long trips, within a few hours of the east coast. And I'm damn sick of it.

Though I have a broken heart
I'm too busy to be heartbroken
There's a lot of things that need to be done
Lord I have a broken heart
Though I have a broken dream
I'm too busy to be dreaming of you
There's a lot of things that I've gotta do

Whee. I haven't been this impressed with a new album in a while. You should go buy or download Televise by Calla. It is doubleplusgood.

I told you it was super pretty. heheh. I'll pick you up something from the concert on friday.
This is getting too weird. A lot (well, a few) of the SGs are dead-ringers for ex-girlfriends of mine, though in most cases the SGs are better looking.
Nic looks like my ex-wife Michelle.
Emily and Lulu both look like my ex-GF Sarah.
Ruby looks like my most recent ex, Joanie.
Echo looks like my ex-GF Lauren.
Ophal looks like my ex-GF Andrea.

like i said this morning, it's really really bizarre how that's turned out.
I finally got my black, long-sleeved, warehouse-smelling SG shirt today. It fits like a glove. Thank you, whoever you are, that decided to sell medium-sized shirts! Finding shirts that fit me is really difficult because usually the smallest most shirt peddlers offer is large, which always fit me like a sail. Reminds me of something the late, great Bill Hicks once said:

Being a recluse isn't horrible at all, I concur. It's when you get a crush on a girl and she's a recluse too (!), that's when things get kinda tricky.
Woowoo, I just won a copy of the Microserfs audio book by Douglas Coupland on ebay, for only eight bucks. It's been out of print since 1996, and I've been looking for it since 1999. Yay!
Pity it's on tape. I'll have to convert it to MP3.

Oo, SuicideGirls chat. Lemme see what's going on over there!
I could pretend to have even remote knowledge about Microserfs, but I don't. However, it's always nice to find stuff that's out of print. A good place online for that is http://www.alibris.com. I bought a copy of a 300 year old transcript there. Pretty sweet.
Upon checking out chat, I've decided there isn't much going on... but I'll continue to hover around it jusbecause I want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem
It'd be great to have an active SG chat.

So I added a single picture to the "my pics" area. It's just me being a dork. Enjoy!... or dont.

heh, i actually had a different reading of the end of that movie than anyone else. I saw Eyes Wide Shut as a lot like Barry Lyndon, and I thought both of those movies were stressing how utterly boring it can be to be upper-class, routinized, and ultimately kind of phony. So when everything was okay between them at the end, it felt like it was almost because they had been so bored in their marriage and daily life that they needed some weirdness and deciet to spice it up, and once they had it, they felt better again.
fallen1carus:
then hi there, dork.

I got stuck working tonight because my apparently primitive ISP was down all last Sunday night, which prevented me from working. I hate working on nights I normally have off, but I guess it was unavoidable tonight.
I just started, too, because I didn't get to bed until 5:00pm. It took *three* Ambiens to finally knock me out, and when I finally was knocked out,...

_sarah_:
The Church is WONDERFUL. You have to dig to find favourites, and they can be a total downer (not the subject of the songs...just the music itself), but they're great. Most people who like the bands we do also like The Church.
And One is a good choice. I went CRAZY trying to find out the name of "Panzer Mensch" and who sang it when I kept hearing it at the club. It's really hard to sing that one to a friend and say, "Know what I'm talking about?"

Deine Schritte sind so schn
tanzen wir das Wiederseh'n
Uns're Blicke sind so stark
jeder tanzt wie ich es sag'
Schwache Beine bleiben steh'n

Computer, Maschine, Panzermensch
geh' g'gradaus, lass es raus!
Wir kmpfen um den Siegeszug
Panzermenschen kriegen nie genug
Kriege sind zum Tanzen da
Uns're Freiheit ist so nah

Last night I had such a good time
But there's a price to pay
A night full of kicks, now the sun's in my eyes
And I feel so weary today
I want to close my eyes
I want to close my eyes
I want to ride and ride and ride
Until I'm nowhere
Make your body a blanket
Let me rest my head
