Goddamned, motherfucking, asshole HMOs. 
I had a prescription for Celebrex that I took in Wednesday to get filled, thinking I'd be able to pick it up the next day. Wrong! The assholes at Cigna required preapproval, so my doc had to call in before the scrip could be filled. Now, I thought this was a mere formality to confirm that the scrip wasn't a forgery, and I was pissed off to begin with because it took my doctor until today to call in. Well, it turns out that the assholes at Cigna think that the Celebrex is too expensive, so they're not going to pay for it. They think I'd be better off taking a less expensive "alternative" drug, Relafen. Now, this drug doesn't work as well, and it comes with a higher risk of causing acid reflux, intestinal bleeding, etc. But the assholes at Cigna, and I'm quoting my doc here, think that I'm young enough and and healthy enough to assume the added risk.
Fucking greedy dicks. You know, there's a part of me that actually hopes I do develop medical problems as a result of taking this drug, because if I do the assholes at Cigna get to pay for my treatment, and also because I'll be suing their rotten, miserable asses blind. Cocksuckers.
Today was also my first day back to work, and that just made things even more pleasant. So how was your Monday?

Edit: I always wonder why drugs are more expensive here than in other countries . I always reason that it all depends on how much the whole manufacturing process cost and because we have more strict labor laws in this country compare to other countries, the cost of manufacturing would be more expensive but Canada have similar labor laws and yet drugs are cheaper north of the border . I guess it all comes down to the companies who manufactures the drugs have expenses such as health care for employees, pension, etc... so if health care rises, the drug prices rises... both prices are influenced by each other ...
