We were friends, then I gently inquired as to the possability of there being an "us" by giving her a letter folded into a pater crane containing a silver ring inscribed with words on the inside of the band. I forget the words...
Anyway we are still friends, and that is the moral of my story.

In my case she explained that we were just too different, and I eventually was satisified with that. Who knows in your case...
