It was a nice break but money must be made.

Quitting my job was truly one of the riskiest things done recently with absolutely no plan. I just knew my mental health was truly more important than my job and a steady income. Sometimes we have to make those choices for ourselves. There is no weakness is advocating for your own needs. There is no weakness in accepting a job that doesn't support your needs.

I do a lot of work with people of various backgrounds, education level, race, gender, sober or active addiction, mentally ill or simple needs like a little extra support on the guidance and counseling side.

I also say to all my clients, my friends and my self. " I would never tell someone to do something if I knew it didn't work, including myself". Well, I take those words seriously, and I try to live by my word. Upon moving into a new agency it's almost surreal. Like, I'm happy. Supportive, like minded people, all with the same and direction. And, I CAN WEAR REGULAR PEOPLE CLOTHES!

Bottom line. I'm happy. Truly and genuinely happy. I feel I deserve this after all the complicated and shitty agencies I navigated around and tolerated. True happiness is a rare thing and I'm savoring every moment I can.
