So I have, at last, figured out a way to paint skies which produces satisfactory results comparable to painting with watercolor on rice paper! It involves using the paint medium of Orazio Gentileschi, which does a great job thinning and blurring colors.
Still have not sold any oil paintings. There's one painting someone expressed interest in -- called "Crags" -- which I would repaint if someone hadn't expressed interest in it... I'll maybe wait another month and if no one buys it or contacts me about it, I'll just go forward with the revision. There's also a painting called The S Bend which was made with the sole intent of selling it fast. I want to paint it over if it doesn't sell in a couple weeks. My dad claims it's his favorite painting and when I told him "Oh -- I was going to paint that over," he claimed he would buy it rather than let that happen. But really, I'd rather just have a nice smooth canvas to paint on than sell it at break-even price.
http://taliafelix.ecrater.com of course lists what I'm listing to date... the sky pictures will likely go up soon. I had made them for myself but unfortunately I don't have anywhere to put them, and investing in the frames might be burdensome.
