An amazing event has happened: I actually got invited to party not being thrown by my sister! I'm trying to keep myself in a good enough mood to be able to go.
We have another rehearsal tomorrow for the commedia play. I am almost done with the Pantalone mask tonight, I'm pretty sure it'll be ready for tomorrow. Mezzetino's mask I'm less sure of, though definitely it'll be ready for dress rehearsals next week barring any major accident falling unto it.
I'm not feeling too good about the song Now The Maids and The Men in the play. I was never a very good violinist -- that's why I finally gave it up, 10 years ago -- and I still can't hit the notes correctly more than 50% of the time. Thing with violin is it's more precise than a guitar, so if you get your finger 1/16th of an inch off the mark, you're not hitting the right note; and I don't have long enough fingers to actually reach the spots I need to be able to. Additionally, my dad who is supposed to play guitar backup for the rest of the song, is not progressing well either. Last I heard he only had partially learned 2 verses out of 7 (and it's not a song where it's the same melody on all the verses.) And what we're trying to do during the song isn't working either. So that's 3 out of 4 elements going badly.
