My older sister, her two kids (8 and 15) and her boyfriend came out for a few days to visit. The boyfriend in particular we weren't sure what to make of, as the family previously only knew him via his Facebook postings, and those have a tendency to make him seem like he suffers from borderline retardation and/or is some kind of wifebeating hick. In...

Okay, eventful day for lots of small misfortunes, though nothing too life altering in the end I guess.

As posted before, I learned only by chance about 8 hours before I was supposed to appear, that I was called for jury duty. The actual jury service I could take or leave -- my schedule's really pretty flexible and I don't have any commitments it would...

Showing up with the jitters and wearing your PowerPuff Girl costume: recipe for disqualification from jury duty. And self-amusement.

Wrote an angry letter to the maintainers of the website where I had to check for notices about my jury duty. I was told to check every Friday for updates, and I checked as told always during times the Western calendar deems to be Friday.

Well apparently I get up a bit early for the updaters of the site. If I hadn't gotten another of...

Yeah, court is not the best place for a killing.

I think I'm going to have to learn how to make my own eyeglass frames, because these things I have are all-around not good.

Probably the biggest problem is that nosepiece. First, it looks like a breeding ground for dirt and bacteria (remember: I suffer from pretty severe cystic acne, and the only reason I don't look like the elephant man is because of all...

Ugh. I have so many ideas for new books, but the magic spell ones are the only that sell well enough to be worth making! I have not sold a single copy yet of that Sweeney Todd, and David Garrick's not sold a copy in over a year.

Meanwhile I've been at work on my project of creating a portrait in the mode of...

Wow. biggrin love
And that would apply to the both the artist and to to the model, in her different aspects.

It can't be easy work... you definitely have a perfectionist streak.

And as to the books... there's at least one more sale. smile

The second one. It's a little unclear where the painting ends and reality begins. Also the colors are slightly more sublime. Any painting that invites a second look and some pondering is a good thing.

Had a fun few days with Jim visiting. He's probably as old as my parents but we seem to get along quite well!

Anyway, my new book La Commedia Inglese: English Commedia dell'Arte Plays is up and available at Amazon. And, in an experimental tactic, I've posted all the plays (well, almost all -- Matinata is soon to come) at http://sites.google.com/site/italiancommedia/plays-and-scenari in hopes it may...

A friend of mine -- a fellow hoodoo practitioner -- was in town today for a convention, so we decided to visit each other and check out the local candle shop. This was a pleasant trip, and the lady at the candle shop suggested that while in the area we should see an art gallery nearby where there was some hoodoo/voodoo/santeria themed art.
The art...

I'm going to be crazy busy this next week it seems -- my new book La Commedia Inglese is ready and I'm waiting for it to go live on Amazon before I go into full promo mode (because people seem to prefer to buy from Amazon, even though I personally benefit more from a Createspace sale.) Meanwhile, my other book Marriage la Mode didn't turn...

Today's shoot is all done! Got a suitable number of pictures from it -- probably a half-dozen to ten "usable" ones which, really is all I can probably handle or need, otherwise the rest of my life will be spent in the W21 computer lab. The goal was always to photoshop the hell out out of them so they'd look like old paintings, but here's...

Beach Blast Blush. That sounds marketable. This fetching portrait could sell a warehouse full.

Man, I wish I still had the original (retouched) photos from the Crude Furie photoset -- I would like to get some of those blown up huge and framed. The one where I'm in profile holding a leg bone, especially, I'd like in an oval frame. All I have anymore are the cropped SG copies with the logo in them. (See, the option existed to...

A couple days ago, the day came: I realized I could no longer see the TV from the couch. My vision's been on the decline some years but since reading from far away (like from a menu posted behind a counter) was pretty much the only time it ever became an issue, it wasn't really worth doing anything about. I should add, I really hate...

Hmm. My joke is I could be three artists.

With my glasses, a realist.

Without them...

Looking through my left eye, an impressionist.

Looking through my right eye, an abstract artist. tongue

Hmmm. I am mentally picturing you with glasses, and some styles would quite suit you, *I* think.
