I just spent two hours driving around town-it's good practice
The Merchant of Venice was...okay. It didn't live up to my expectations. I got a kick out of how the director and /or the screenwriter interpreted the scenes, though.
I started reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, seems like it will be good. I've been craving some fantasy lately, so after it I'll finish off the His Dark Materials Trilogy.
I had just finished bitching to myself about Secretary never being in at Blockbuster (they just have one copy), and was flipping channels ...lo and behold its playing on Oh! this Saturday at 9.
I still haven't rented the last two Hellsing volumes, but have got The Merchant of Venice instead.
My mother is still after me to take up teaching, citing insurance coverage and... Read More
Oooh...Secretary is good. Maggie Gyllenhaal is so hot...
Good luck funding your Amsterdam trip (and I STILL say you should get a car because when you get back from your trip...you'll still want one). But it's good you bike and that you're not totally immoble. You have to take what I say with a grain of salt--I'm a strong proponent of all things vehicular.
Don't rule out teaching...not all teaching is created equal... I want one of those cooshy professor jobs--the little kid jobs just aren't for me, so I think I know how you feel.
I say get a car. Cars make life better. Even if it's a cheap car it's a lot better than nothing. Plus a lot of times you can get a better job with a car.
I think the bird got the best of the snake...it was probably eaten by the bird when I left. But, as I drove away from the poor little guy, he was all I could think about...it was wierd I had that image of the bloody snake looking up at me for the rest of the day.
I noticed that one of your favorite movies is Before Night Falls. I'm reading the book right now. It really good.
Here's the way I see it. Either I can try to transfer out of the south, or switch my major to poly-sci and be out of college a year early. Hmmmmmm. Though this does mean abandoning what I went for in the first place (creative writing).
hehe that's totally fake. It was a booth set up with a city back drop and windows for the front. If it makes you feel better, you are the third person to think it's real.
Finally got my male cat, Alexander, vaccinated. It eems like he was the only cat there. He forgave me for having a strange man stick needles in his butt shortly afterward.
France voted no on ratifying the EU Constitution. I don't see why analysts are saying its the end of the world. Several other countries are hesistant, and only 9/25 have ratified it to date.... Read More
you know, stirfry is my new favourite thing to make? so easy and so yummy! i only discovered it last month. and i agree with smallelaine, don't boil them. toss then in with the rest of the vegetables so they stay crunchy. mmm.
i love a good story and, for me, 'middlesex' is one of them. i liked the subtlety of 'the virgin suicides'. i don't know wally lamb. what would you recommend?
Would you believe that was a slip her mom wanted to throw out? I saw it and was like...that would be soooo cute as a skirt with a cutesy piece of floral material over the top of it! lol
I would have a major heart attack if my mom popped out of a closet or something.
I would love to say that I adore artsy things like theater and book readings, but, I just don't. Musical theater I especially can't handle! But the guy who performed tonight was really talented. It was written by the guy who wrote the play and screenplay for Quills.
Ah, yes, I remember seeing the poster for that. It looked good. I need to see more Korean films.
I just think the hopefuls group needs a make-over. It needs to be privet. It needs to have specific goals, a new attitude.
