I started training again today. It's been a while though, and my time away definately took its toll. After a couple Djarum Blacks yesterday, a boatload of coffee and some T-Bell, my body was not feelin' too hot this morning. I went to the gym anyhow... and had to cut my routine short because I had to run into the bathroom to vomit.
I need to check my vices.

My Odyssey submission is slow going, but it's going, so I can't complain.
I should have gotten much more done this past weekend at home in CT - where I was helping my father renovate the house. One of my best friends came down from UConn, though, and that pretty-much marked the end of any significant headway.
While I did manage to get a paragraph down, four days off from work is not a regular occurance. I need more discipline.

I find that my outlines actually help me in being more spontaneous. I know that seems insane but bear with me. While writing the outlines, I get all the plot and major surprises in. I can imagine the plot and structure very quickly because I'm only writing the bare minimum. Thus, I end up with a very workable story and don't have to worry about the plot again. I write the noun sheets as I'm writing the outline, so I really know who my characters are--which is imperative to "selling" your main characters. With all that thought put in, I can divorce myself from thinking about who my characters are or plot devices when it comes time to actually write. I know pretty well who everyone is and where they should be at any given point, so I can concentrate much more on the actual words.

I can't take credit for that explanation of the f-bomb. I started to write the same explanation deep within the high-tech wonderland that is my office, but then just looked it up instead (I've written the explanation several times before).
