Today was busy... but fun for the most part! I woke up at 10, showered, dressed, did my hair and left the apartment around 11:30. Got to Subway way too early, sat outside a while to wait, sat inside a while to wait, finally decided to get my sub while still waiting and just as I'm telling her what toppings I want on my sub mysteryx shows up! *laughs* So I finished purchasing my food and went outside to say hi to him. We had lunch, then went shopping at the Martins in the same plaza. I got lots of yummy food, soy chicken patties, soy chicken nuggets, tofu, strawberries, blackberries, bananas, apples, TLC cheesy crackers, organic milk, Brown Cow yogurt and organic half n half. Then we said our goodbyes, I came home and cleaned the apartment because it's been sorely needing it.
Went to take my psych final, left there and went to say goodbye to Justin since he's leaving for the summer today, then headed back to the apartment. Checked the mail, got my refund check, went to the bank, and waited for my family to show so we could head to the Honors Day Ceremony. That's when things got great!
We got there and a ton of my professors were there, including Cathy (the editor of the paper) and Dr. Daddario (who I had last semester and absolutely love). At first I was insanely nervous, but then Chris showed up. Chris always makes me feel way less nervous. Anyway, they finally call my name and I go up and I ended up reading Another Fix, I'll post it at the end of this in case anyone cares. I got applause. What I really loved was that Dr. Balcer made this huge deal out of my being a freshman and having been chosen to be editor of the lit mag next year. I was the ONLY freshman that was honored for ANYTHING! biggrin Anyway... after that my family took me out to China Jade for dinner and I had yummy veggie lo mein.
Came home and then dragged Chris to Walmart. Bought him a cake, card and candle that sang 'Happy Birthday' since it's his birthday. *laughs* I didn't get him a present though, he wouldn't tell me what he wanted and I didn't get a chance to get to the mall to find him anything that I thought he'd like. That's my goal for tomorrow. Except I won't be able to give it to him until Thursday, because he's leaving for Woodbridge tomorrow to take care of some business down there.
Grades are coming in... so far they are
Fitness and Wellness ~ A-
Yoga ~ A
English Literature ~ B+
The two classes I'm worried about haven't turned in grades yet, Spanish and World Civ. and I just took my psych final today so he hasn't turned his in yet either. As of right now though my GPA for the semester is a 3.4! biggrin For my entire "career" right now it's a 3.1167. *laughs* That'll change when the rest of the grades come in.
Anyway... now my day is at a close. I'm probably just going to have a cup of tea and head off to sleep. Summer is officially here for me! It's gonna be a great one! kiss

Another Fix

I give myself to you
with your harsh demands
Our bodies intermingle
and your thoughts reach me
hardened snow in winter
Another unromantic tryst
under cover of night
After which you vanish
like a dream in the dawn
A fate that I try to block out
like a child
fingers in my ears
humming as loudly as I can
I am your latest fix.
Nothing more.

What a relief! You know, ever since I watched Carrie, I thought that every teenage girl was a telecinetic sociopath. So that sex & drugs & piercing thing would actually have been an improvement. wink

I just thought that being 13 must be so weird for a girl, even a 'good' and 'normal' one, what with your body changing and boys starting to look at you funny.

I wish that all your grades will be much better than what you expect.
