I thought I would share this, in case it happens to anyone else...

My credit card number was stolen. I have no idea how they obtained the number- it could have been through a credit card generator (a computer program which generates legitimate credit card numbers is very easy to download) or (most likely) someone stole my details at a sale point where I used...

Noticed on FB that many of the people from my high school who should not have reproduced are now becoming grandparents. I don't know about evolution and "survival of the fittest", but thermodynamics is clearly alive and well.

Yeah... it's an unsettling trend.

Some people shouldn't be in charge of other, smaller, people.

Was really, really bored this afternoon so I decided to try ChatRoulette. Got myself all psyched up for it, had my paper-mach penis all ready, the Listerine so I could wash out my eyes...and.....DENIED. shocked

The camera on my MacBook would not work with the ChatRoulette site, for some reason. mad

What the hell is ChatRoulette?
aquila:
omg, you don't know what ChatRoulette is? You have to have a webcam- its a video chat site that randomly puts a user face-to-face with a stranger, anywhere in the world. And just like a roulette wheel at the casino, you never know where Chat Roulette will take you. You click "go" and you're face-to-face with someone somewhere, it could be someone who just wants to learn English or it could be some weirdo in a cat suit. If you don't want to converse with that person, you click "next" and meet someone else.

I saw a couple of people, no one naked or anything, but it wasn't really fair because my own webcam wouldn't work. But the expression on people's faces is priceless- they're sitting there with this expectant look on their faces like they're bracing themselves for the worst, and then it's almost like they're relieved when they can't see anything.

I am writing this from a hotel room in East Peoria, IL. We don't have cable at home (I see TV as a digital drug to kids- they get hooked on it and it destroys their brain cells, just like a real drug) so as soon as we hit a hotel room, the kids go wild and the TV comes on. Never have you seen...

Happy New Year!

I really have nothing deep or introspective to say, no resolutions (yet!), and no further comments or expressions of joy. I'm such a lightweight drinker I've already had too much and I'm not sure I'm going to make it to midnight.

Again, hope everyone's new year is a good one! miao!!

Thank you- rest well. smile

The thing about happy days is you know deep down as you're experiencing them that there is nowhere to go but down. And I had a gut feeling about this morning, as I was playing with Ben. It was a carefree kind of day- all the shopping is done, there's no school, and no obligations.

We were playing a game called "Super Crabby", where I...

Don't mourn his passing... celebrate, what sounds to me, like a beautiful life. Remember him fondly and with a smile.

Hang in there, kiddo...

Thanks. We're a bit confused right now because funeral arrangements still have not been made. Apparently, the family doesn't have the money for the "up-front" costs. There is plenty of money in his estate, they just don't have access to it. I had no idea there were "up-front" costs for a funeral, but I guess there are lots of them.

So, we're not sure if we should call them and offer to help (family is family), or if we should hang tight and wait for them to sort it out. My BIL wants to come to the funeral from Hawaii, and he would like to know what's going on so he can make arrangements.

So, like I mentioned before, I homeschool.

I homeschool my son, both because he wants to and because it gives me a purpose. I think if I didn't have him to love and focus on I would lose my mind- he is, I feel, the only one who reciprocates the affection for others that wells up deep inside me and spills over. I am loving...

Apologies for deleting all past blogs. The self-censor got the better of me.

Doing better now. I got off the amitriptyline that I think was making my thinking fuzzy (and causing me to gain weight frown). I started taking it to fall asleep at night, then kind of started self-medicating, wondering what would happen if I took a little more. I am super-sensitive to other...

Interesting. I remember learning to read. When I was 5 and 6, I told my mother many times that once they taught me to read, I wanted out of school, and I would do the rest. In a good many ways, I did.
The 1st grade's the big one- get him reading, and you'll have given him the biggest tool he'll ever need.
