Rebound- Aaaargh! Remember the cool woman I was telling you about... (a few posts ago- if you are on MySpace.com) She pointed something out to me that I cannot confirm or deny from the vantage point behind my eyes... Even though she and I seem to be a very good match... I could very still be rebounding even though my soon to be officially "ex" SO (who we may most likely remain friends- and will have financial ties from debt and house etc. and may still be living together (IN SEPERATE ROOMS- BELIEVE ME)... blah blah blah...)
So she is all broody cuz I am her only close friend... just never more marriage relationship etc... Grrr. crap. Don't want to sleep with her anymore and am trying to distance myself as much as possible... (The frigging futon is soooo damn stiff and lumpy... But not so bad- I am getting used to it.)
So being somewhat of a masochist in the emotional arena and a bit of a contraire (though I have learned to hate dragging my emotions through the mudd...) I actually see something more on the horizon. Time has tempered my thoughts, desires and emotions to where I am a bit wiser that I was But there is this part of me that has been restrained for so long I want to be brash and jump head-long into everything I tackle And make it stick.
I want a stable, fun, JUST ENOUGH DIFFERENCE TO BE INTERESTING BUT NOT ALWAYS FIGHTING relationship.
BTW- In my opinion It takes people 1 day for every seven days in a relationship to recoup and get out of the relationship rebound That means Since I was with my Ex for almost 3 years. That is:
365.25 * 3 (1 day / week of together )=
1095 days / 7 = 156.5 days : )
or.
5 months and 4 days.
I am the type of person that DOES NOT leave a relationship until all real options have been exhausted. All have and then some. The age difference and dominant personalities and emotional VS logical are very conflicting in so many ways. I am over my party party years (though I still like the occasional drink-drunk parties and going out and having fun with friends)
Once I have made up my mind to leave- that line in the sand which might as well be stone- has been crossed and there is no going back. I do not go back. Which is something I learned from a way-back relationship She said- we stay together and dont even speak of breaking up unless we are doing it. It didnt make sense at the time but it made the time in the relationship sooo much better. And when we broke up- we never got back together in that capacity again. It was over- the time I spent with her in that period ended and we remained casual friends thereafter.
I have adopted that philosophy and to this day- it has served me well. If you adopt it- you must inform the other person when you get involved- fight for all youre worth to keep it, and if it falls apart- NEVER get back together with them again as anything more than friends. NO SEX EITHER! You Must have conviction to pull this off and you MUST adopt it 100%. It must be black and white And when the time comes You find yourself saying to yourself If they do this one more time to me thats it and if it happens its over. That is what happened with me and my Ex And it is best for all involved.
So I hope I can hang onto this one I have been talking to beyong my rebound time to know and see if it is real or rebound...
I hope its real. Dare I say I feel it is... and I think I know it is...
