I failed (possibly). I will document how this night goes.
Valentines day was never a big day for me but now that Ive attached a modicum of significance to the 24 hour period I notice all the haves, and me the have not.
So I play with other have nots, but they are also intent on self emoliation like moi. All the have nots I know are into jam bands (
Phish, Gratefull Dead, etc.) and sports spectating ( Baseball stats, Bostonian QB's) and so I sit quietly and try to subvert them with art, psychology, sociology. But apparently that stuff is unexciting (like watching sports is exciting?) and their eyes cloud more then they usually are.
Then there is/are you! You match with my mind, and who knows what day to day interactions would be like if we lived in the same city, but you are the reason I am now wanting to move to a bigger city. I want to dance to industrial music. I want to go to fetish parties. I want to look at Real Art (not that Christo crap, not Van Goat
). I want to do all these things without a car. I want an artist community.
So that is my theme. My valentine will be Idea. The idea of this urban environment where I have a studio in part of a wharehouse with other artists, and you all come buy to extract me from my machines to go too an art opening, then dancing. We are dressed in our industrial clothes and at the opening we shock everyone. On the way home someone whips out their digital camera...

You should SO ease on down to an urban enviornment. City life isn't all butterflies and rainbows, we get bored here too, but at least there's more people per square mile and the likelihood of bumping into some like-minded people is much higher. You shouldn't be sad you can't relate to those "people" around you. Feel sad for them that they are so limited. Bask in realization that you are far above them and they are to blinded to notice . . . they're prolly better off that way.
