I agree with you regarding McCain. I was going to vote for him in 2000 also. I'm not so sure the republican party is going to swing back to the center anytime soon though. McCain is absolutely reviled in religous right circles and they seem to be holding the reins lately. McCain will run but I expect him to lose the primary to some candidate who will pander to the freakazoids.
The republican party has been hijacked by the religous right and I don't see it coming undone anytime soon. One can hope though. I predict 2008 will be a big indicator of the future of the reppublican party. Will it continue on it's extremist path or tack back to the center? Same can be said of the Democrats, although I see them as close to the center anyway, they're just a mess organizationally.
Where's a decent third party alternative (moderate, centrist) now that the time is ripe?

The game was killer. The Astros seriously sucked in a very comical way. Their only decent offensive or defensive play was a bunt. BTW, upper box tickets are always half price with student or military ID. 2 tickets for $12 and the best view of the entire field.
